What can a wedding planner do for you and what does it cost?

Te first myth that we have to do away with is that wedding planners are totally different to venue decorators and offer totally different services.  Florists and chair cover companies will very often market themselves as wedding planners.  Please do not be sucked in by this – they theme your venue and your event.  Would you ask a butcher to be the chef at your wedding and cook your wedding breakfast for 100 guests just because he has a connection with food?  

Its very simple really, a wedding planner will look after every little detail for you leading up to the big day and become the only point of contact that you need to have.

We will get you the best deals on all your venue charges such as the hire fee of the venue, catering, decorating, entertainment – everything.  Why?  Because they all want to work with us and have the notoriety of having dealt with a large wedding planning business,  they will drop their rates and their supplemental charges (the “ker ching” factor a lot of businesses tend to have when they hear the word wedding!).

In essence a wedding planner WILL ultimately save you money.  Even venues will lower their charges to have a wedding planner in control of the day because it saves them money and time having to deal with all the aspects of your day themselves.

Also, wedding planners hold completely different insurance to venue decorators which means if a florist suddenly organises your day and decides to make a change at the last minute to suit what they would like instead of what you agreed or what you would like you are NOT insured or have any form of recompense with your wedding insurance.

Wedding planners will work tirelessly for you, concentrate on you and your special day and get to know your personally so that the personal touch is shown all the way throughout your wedding – the key for us as planners is to go totally unnoticed – your guests would never know we are there on the day yet your day will run so smoothly in the background.

How much does all this cost?  Well a lot of the larger wedding planners will charge a percentage of your overall spend however we at Scarlet Feather Events look at every event uniquely and we decide how much to charge based on your spend and your financial position in order that the services of a wedding planner are open to everyone and no-one feels that they have to be excluded because it is a luxury service open only to the wealthy – we are here to ensure that this is a service EVERYONE has access to.
